Brownies with Fudge Frosting

This recipe has been in my family for over 40 years. The frosting almost makes it seem like fudge. Here it is:

2 cups sugar 1 cup flour
4 eggs 2 tsp vanilla
4 squares unsweetened chocolate 1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup unsalted butter

Frosting:
2 cups sugar 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs, beaten 4 Tbl unsalted butter
4 Tbl light cream 2 tsp vanilla

Heat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour 9 x 13 cake pan.

Add sugar to eggs; beat well. Melt chocolate and butter; add to egg mixture. Blend in flour; add vanilla and nuts. Pour into cake pan. Bake for 25-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Cool.

For frosting:

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir until of spreading consistency. Spread over cooled brownies. Cut in 2" squares. Makes 32.

Enjoy!
